I have news and two upcoming events to share with you.

was awarded Best of Show at the Menlo Art League 2009 Annual exhibit. Judge-George Rivera, Curator of the Triton Museum of Art in Santa Clara, CA

I will participating in the 1st annual holiday gift fair at the Triton Museum in Santa Clara. This painting and 20 additional small works, 8x10 and smaller, will be available.

When: November 14-15th, 2009 (Saturday and Sunday only)

Over 30 artists will be selling ceramics, glass, mini paintings and sculpture, jewelry, cards, wood turnings and origami art.

This will be a great time to do some early holiday shopping and support the Triton Museum of Art. This is an opportunity to purchase unique gifts directly from the artists.

"Dusk"
The 20 Street Art Gallery
presents the 1st annual 20/20 Show, featuring 20, 8"x 8" pieces of art from over 50 artists. The theme of my 20 paintings is " Dawn to Dusk Reflections". All 20 paintings can be previewed on my website.

North Tahoe Plein Air

Mary Stahl will be heading up to Lake Tahoe on Monday 9/7 to participate in the North Tahoe Plein Air event. Plein air painting takes place throughout the North Lake Tahoe area Wednesday through Friday. Wet paintings are framed and displayed on Saturday and Sunday 9/12 - 9/13 at the Village of Northstar.  The weekend show and sale coincides with the Autumn Food and Wine Festival also being held at Northstar.

Mary Stahl's painting in Pastels USA 2009


I have some news to share. My painting Autumn Glory has been accepted into the 2009 Pastels USA show to be on display at the Triton Museum in Santa Clara, CA. Show dates are Saturday, July 25 until Sunday, September 27. There's a reception on Friday evening, July 31, although I will be out of town and not able to attend.

Color Notes exhibit

Many of the BACPAC artists are participating in a show at the Sanchez Art Center in Pacifica, CA. The exhibit is called "Color Notes" and is being displayed in the theater at the Sanchez Center.
The show is on display from April 5 through July 5, 2009. The Gallery is open in conjuction with Saturday evening concerts. Check the schedule on the Pacifica performances website  (See below), and enjoy music and art together.

In Color, In Season

BACPAC members are pleased to be exhibiting their recent work during the month of December 2008 at Main Street Cafe & Books in Los Altos, CA. 

Participating artists are Selora Albin, Brigitte Curt, Marcia Enns, Kim Holl, Krishna Kopell, Susan Brott Lawson, Morning Nichols, Sandy Ostrau, Mary K. Stahl, Linda Stanley, Alice Weil, Karen White, and Tonya Zenin.   Guest artist will be Jim Smyth, well known Bay Area art teacher/mentor.

Monday - Saturday, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm
Sunday, 8 am to 2:30 pm.

LGAA Member Juried Show



Two of Alice Weil's paintings and one of Mary Stahl's paintings were accepted into the 2008 Los Gatos Art Association Annual Member Juried Show. Mary won an Honorable Mention award for her pastel painting Stormy.



The exhibit is on display from October 30 through December 4 at the Art Museum of Los Gatos, 4 Tait Avenue (at Main Street), Los Gatos, CA .

Pastel Society of the West Coast exhibit

Two of Mary Stahl's paintings have been accepted into the 2008 exhibit of the Pastel Society of the West Coast. On display will be her paintings titled "Farmland" and "Reflections." The venue is the Vacaville Museum, 213 Buck Avenue, Vacaville, CA from October 4-31, 2008, with a reception the evening of October 4. Seasons of Martis Plein Air Event


Mary Stahl has been selected to participate in the Seasons of Martis Plein Air Event in the Martis Valley area near Truckee, CA Oct. 1-5, 2008. A presentation by Jean Stern, director of the Irvine Museum, on the "First 100 years of Plein Air Painting in California" is open to the public on Saturday, Oct. 4. The Gala auction event on Saturday night is open to ticket holders, and the exhibit is open to the public on Sunday, Oct. 5. Maria Boisvert in Carmel Plein Air Festival

BACPAC member Maria Boisvert has been accepted into the Carmel Plein Air Festival for 2008. This well-known festival will take place May 15-18, 2008. This will be the second time Maria has participated in this event. She was also juried into the 2002 festival.

A Breath of Plein Air exhibit

BACPAC members Karen White and Mary Stahl were recently juried into an upcoming exhibit titled A Breath of Plein Air which will be on display at History San Jose from May 2 to September 21, 2008. History San Jose is located at the south end of Kelley Park in San Jose.

Los Gatos Art Association's Open Juried Show

Pastels USA 2008

Two of my pastel paintings have been accepted into the upcoming Pastels USA 2008 exhibition.
The moody painting to the left is "Farmland" and was a studio painting.
The plein air painting to the right, done on a warm late summer day, is "Red Barn."
The exhibit will be shown in Stockton, CA at the Haggin Museum. It opens May 18 and ends June 22. There's a reception/awards ceremony on May 31 from 2-4 pm.
